You don’t need a garden to grow your own plants!

Gardens for everyone.jpg

It seems the more houses and buildings that are built there is less room for nature to take place and allow you to grow your own plants and produce. With more high rise buildings being built to accommodate the ever-growing population some people are left disheartened at the lack of options and space when it comes to gardening. In fact, it could begin to impact our health. Plants can remove up to 10% of the carbon dioxide that is found in the air. If you are in a flat, apartment or home that does not offer outdoor space to grow plants then you will not be reaping the benefits of having nature surrounding you.

However, having no garden doesn’t mean that you can’t grow plants! With hydroponics it means that everyone can grow plants, whether you’re dreaming big or small, growing plants in your own home has never been easier.

For starters there are many benefits to starting your own hydroponic garden. Growing hydroponically means your produce grows 30% - 50% faster meaning you won't be waiting around for as long to taste your produce. The reason for this is because the roots don’t have to search for nutrients through the soil. Instead, nutrients are supplied directly to the root several times a day. Hydroponics plants also have fewer issues with bug infestations, funguses and being eaten by other animals that creep into your garden.

A bonus is also you don’t have to wait for the right season when you can create the correct environment indoors! With no need for soil, you also eliminate the risk of soil-borne diseases.

You are guaranteed fresh produce every time plucking it straight from your own home. You can grow literally anything which you would like. From herbs to your own fruit and veg. Or maybe you would just like to grow your own flowers so you can have your favourites around your home all year round.

With many people now choosing to live their life organically and eco-friendly, hydroponics systems couldn't fit the bill anymore. Using 90% less water than standard gardening and no need for use of chemicals to keep animals away it means it can be a great investment into your life.

Worried you won't have space though? Not all hydroponics systems have to take up your home, smaller, beginners systems take up minimal space and are great for those just looking to start out. You will need roughly 5.4ft2 (0.5 m2) of space to begin your hydroponics journey. You can also build your hydroponics system vertically to save on space.
